Hanseatic Global Terminals Latin America, previously known as SAAM Terminals, was until August 1, 2023 part of the business units of SM SAAM S.A., a Chilean multinational founded in 1961, leader in tugboat operations in the Americas and a leading airport logistics operator in the region.

As of 2023, the SAAM Terminals group of companies and its portfolio were acquired by Hapag-Lloyd’s Terminals and Infrastructure division. In 2024, this unit became an independent entity under the Hanseatic Global Terminals brand.

As of August 1, 2025, SAAM Terminals officially adopts the name Hanseatic Global Terminals Latin America, becoming the regional office of its controller Hanseatic Global Terminals.

In this way, our experience spanning more than six decades continues to serve the foreign trade sector. A new era begins for Hanseatic Global Terminals Latin America and its subsidiaries as a key asset within Hanseatic Global Terminals’ robust and attractive global portfolio of port terminals.
